COLOURlovers - iPhone Palettes App
January 27th, 2009 | Web DesignSo if you like COLOURlovers.com, you’ll probably like the iPhone Palettes App. It allows you to use a photo from your iPhone library or take a new photo and it will create color palettes for you.
You can also “browse, seach, and import palettes from COULOURlovers.com. There are a lot more features and I’m not going to go into details. You can check them out for yourself at the developer’s site.
At $9.99, I thought it was a bit steep but thought I should get it just to see what it does. There is a lite version you can try out for free, but as with any free tryout app at the app store, it usually isn’t as good as the full version. The thing I wish it had was a thumbnail of the picture I took to create the swatches. As a designer, sometimes I like to reference to something I’ve seen and how the colors are used, not just having some colors on the screen. So yeah, I hope the developer can improve that. I know images from libraries can be deleted thus they won’t be available, but if there is a way to auto create an album or some sort just for the Palettes App, so you won’t delete that folder, then that should work. But anyway, like I said, if you like COLOURlovers already, then you’ll like this app for your iPhone.
If you don’t have an iPhone…what are you waiting for. Seriously, run out and get one!!! I can’t imagine life without one now….
